Views

Views are drawings of a three-dimensional object obtained from different directions. The three main views that we will use are the front view (view from the front), the side view (view from the side), and the top view (view from above).

Specifically, we will use the European projection system, which determines a different arrangement of the three views from that used in the American projection system.

This type of representation using orthographic projections is called the Multiview orthographic projection.

The following pages explain each of the three views and include exercises on obtaining the views of an object, arranged by difficulty, from basic exercises to more complex ones, including exercises involving curved objects.
